Among the 78 athletes who make up the French delegation, four of them are licensed in Maralpine clubs. Introducing Margot Chevrier, Camille Seri, Téo Andant, and Méba-Mickaël Zézé.

The World Athletics Championships are taking place this year in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. This is the last major rehearsal for athletes ahead of the Paris Olympics, next summer in 2024. The competition will be held from August 19 to 27.

On the French side, no fewer than 78 athletes will take part in the 49 different events (sprint, running, throwing, jumping). Four of them are licensed in clubs in the Alpes-Maritimes: Margot Chevrier and Camille Séri at Nice Côte d’Azur Athlétisme, Téo Andant at AS Monaco, and Méba-Mickaël Zézé at AS Cannes.

Margot Chevrier, 23 years old (pole vault):

The Nice native is participating in her second world championships. Trained by Sébastien Reisdorffer, she cleared 4.71m at the beginning of June, her best performance in her young career. The pole vaulter also retained her title as French pole vault champion. Margot Chevrier will be on the track on August 23, at 10:30 AM for the qualifications. The women’s pole vault final is scheduled for the same day starting at 7:30 PM, a final in which the Nice native hopes to participate. After a Top 10 at the European Championship, she aims for a better final place at the Worlds.

Camille Séri, 24 years old (4×400 meters):

She also trains with the Nice Côte d’Azur Athletics club, under the direction of Emmanuel Mistral. Originally from Suresnes, Camille Séri is a double indoor 400m French champion. A specialist in the distance but also in the 400m hurdles, the runner will be part of the women’s relay. The women’s 4×400 relay will take to the track a bit later. Meet on August 26 from 7:55 PM for the heats, then the next day for the final, on August 27 at 9:47 PM.

Téo Andant, 24 years old (4×400 meters):

The Nice native will also be part of a relay. The athlete is accustomed to the 400m. Coached in Monaco by Marc Vecchio, he ran 45’18 this season on the distance, his personal best. Téo Andant is participating in his second World Championships, with the ambition to win a medal this year. Last year at the European Championships, the men’s 4x400m relay, with Téo, won a bronze medal. They will be competing on August 26 from 7:30 PM for the heats and on August 27 at 9:37 PM for a possible final.

Méba-Mickaël Zézé (4×100 meters):

The native of Seine-Maritime is one of the figures in French 100m in recent years. With a time of 9’99 in the distance last year, he became the fourth Frenchman to break the mythical ten-second barrier. Coached by Elliot Draper in Cannes, the Frenchman will compete in the 4x100m relay. The same relay team won a silver medal at the European Championships last summer. The heats for this relay take place on August 25 at 7:30 PM. The final will be held on August 26 at 9:40 PM, with the aim of winning a medal.
