The third edition of the citizen participation campaign in the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region began on Monday, September 2, and will continue until October 4, 2024.
Are you young and want to participate in shaping the future of our region? Now is the time to get involved! This third edition of the citizen participation campaign is aimed at all citizens aged 15 and over.
During this period, all young people will be able to propose oversight topics to the Cour des comptes and the regional and territorial chambers of accounts (CRTC). This campaign follows the strategic modernization project of the institution “JF 2025”, led by Pierre Moscovici, First President of the Cour des comptes.
What topics can be proposed?
The topics that young citizens can propose are those they would like to see addressed. For example, fighting poverty, managing household waste, public health, or public transportation. The proposed themes can cover all aspects of public action. However, they still need to respect the proper use of public funds.
During the last campaign, the chosen theme was the implementation of the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis cycling plan.
Why this campaign?
This campaign aims to encourage young citizens to participate in the planning of the work of financial jurisdictions. It will enable them to get involved as users, taxpayers, voters, or public actors. Furthermore, the campaign aims to raise their awareness about the importance of transparency, the effectiveness of public action, and the sound management of public funds.
What will happen after the campaign ends on October 4?
Upon the closure of the platform on October 4, the Cour des comptes and the CRTC will begin the selection phase. They will review each proposal based on various criteria such as popularity, novelty, auditability, and feasibility. To participate in the campaign, click here.
