For the first time, the Union of Nice Basketball Societies is organizing, as part of the Nice 100% Sport event, activities for the youngest (ages 6-11) around Beach Basketball. *Wednesday, July 25th from 10 AM to 8 PM at Jardins Albert 1er – Nice*
Program:
From 10 AM to 12 PM > introduction to Beach Basketball practice;
From 2 PM to 8 PM > tournament with teams of 4 or 5.
Beach Basketball is a fun-oriented sport created by the French Basketball Federation that retains the collective virtues of its original sport. It allows players to perform impressive acrobatics, as pavement is no longer an obstacle for diving, spectacular interceptions, or off-balance shots. Since the sand does not allow the ball to bounce, emphasis is thus placed on passing and shooting.
Beach Basketball is a great opportunity for the younger ones to discover this sport in a friendly and convivial setting.
Nice 100% Sport event runs until Sunday, August 19th, featuring a succession of professional and amateur tournaments, and demonstrations of various beach sports: beach volleyball, footvolley, sandball, beach rugby, and even pétanque… Nice 100% Sport brings together an exceptional lineup of high-level athletes in the heart of the city, at Jardins Albert 1er (French international players of volleyball or basketball, Victoria Ravva for Beach Volleyball, Olivier Dacourt for Footvolley…).
