Nice 100% Sport is, from Friday, July 20th to Sunday, August 19th, a succession of professional and amateur tournaments, demonstrations of different beach sports: beach volleyball, foot volley, sandball, beach rugby, but also pétanque…
Nice 100% Sport is an exceptional lineup of high-level athletes gathered in the heart of the city, in the Albert 1st Gardens (including French international players of volleyball or basketball, Yannick Bazin for Beach Volleyball, Olivier Dacourt for Foot Volley…).
The brand new Nice Foot Volley club is organizing Foot Volley tournaments and activities for the youngest around this discipline within the framework of the Nice 100% Sport event.
Foot Volley is a sport created in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro. The rules are similar to those of Beach Volleyball, with one difference: the use of hands is prohibited. Players therefore use their chest, head, or foot to pass the ball or return it to the other side of the net.
The organizers wanted to highlight the best young French prospects, aged 12 to 17, during the Espoir Nice Foot Volley, the first tournament to bring together this promising elite.
These young athletes have been practicing the discipline daily since their early childhood. The show promises to be as exciting as that of the seniors! 5 teams from Corsica and 2 from Marseille have already qualified. 5 pairs from the French Riviera will emerge from the qualifications to complete the lineup.
The Moorea Master, named after the beach in Juan-les-Pins where the discipline appeared in France, will pit former pros against foot volley players. 12 teams of 2 players will form a quality lineup. It’s a great opportunity to see glorious former players like Eric Roy, Cyril Rool, Olivier Dacourt, or Olivier Echouafni.
Finally, the Europe Tournament will pit Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swiss, Portuguese, and French pairs from the European Top 10 against each other. A demonstration of a 4×4 tournament will also be given.
