On May 7th, the city of Nice is organizing the 6th Inter-AMAP Festival of the Alpes-Maritimes at the Maison de l’Environnement at 12:30 PM.
Agriculture in the Alpes-Maritimes is at a turning point. With just over 600 so-called professional farms, its future is faced with the need to refocus its challenges and priorities within a sustainable development approach to agriculture to ensure the persistence of this economic activity, which has environmental, educational, food, and social interests.
To ensure the proper implementation of these recommendations and commitments, the AMAP network (Association for the Maintenance of Peasant Agriculture) of the Alpes-Maritimes wishes to open the debate with citizens, inform them, and strongly involve them.
Detailed program:
12:30 PM: Opening to the public. Open meal, everyone can contribute to composing the lunch. Soups and cakes will be offered for sale as well as organic fish grills! Come taste and share the local flavors!

→ AMAP Stand: What is an AMAP and where can I find one near me? Come meet the AMAPs!
→ Visit to the Maison de l’Environnement
→ Seed exchange: Bring your seeds to trade for forgotten varieties and sponsor an ancient seed by growing it in your garden or on your balcony!
→ Farmers’ market (cheese, vegetables, honey, tapenades, jams, eggs, etc.)
→ Partners and Alternatives stands, Shared Gardens stands, Olfacto-therapy stand
→ Activities for children: distribution and repotting of organic plants (parsley, basil, etc.)
→ Screening of a film! Video report featuring portraits of farmers.
3:00 PM: Round table “Citizens: let’s support local peasant agriculture”
5:00 PM: Festive, organic, and local aperitif with music!
