A company of riot police (CRS) that arrived from Montauban after 6 hours of driving had a rather unpleasant surprise upon reaching Nice. The officers discovered that the barracks reserved for them were in a totally uninhabitable condition.
CRS 28 company departed from Montauban and arrived in Nice this Sunday around 5:30 PM. They were supposed to settle in the east of the city, in the Ariane camp barracks. However, the officers found the buildings to be completely uninhabitable. “The mechanical ventilation system was out of order, and the sanitary facilities were full of dirt and mold,” stated Pierre Ducros from the Alliance Police Nationale CRS union in Alpes-Maritimes, speaking to France Bleu Azur.
The company personnel then decided not to stay in the barracks and chose to sleep in their trucks instead.
Yesterday afternoon at 3 PM, the CRS officers took to the road again. After the buildings are cleaned, CRS 57 company from Carcassonne will come to replace them in the coming days.
