Nice Airport: For Jean-Christophe Picard, “consultation is not reason”

Latest News

For Jean-Christophe Picard, president of the PRG 06: “This consultation is illegal”.

picard-11.jpg Christian Estrosi has just passed a resolution allowing him to organize a consultation of Nice voters on February 19, 2015, regarding the issue of transferring the majority of shares of the Aéroport de la Côte d’Azur company to the private sector. The cost of organizing this vote is estimated at €100,000 [1].

Admittedly, “the voters of a local authority can be consulted”, but only “on decisions that the authorities of this local authority are considering taking to address matters within its competence” [2]. And, of course, the sale of state shares does not fall under the competence of the city of Nice!

That is why Jean-Christophe Picard, president of the PRG 06, has approached the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes to ask him to refer this resolution to the administrative court of Nice [3].
