Nice, Imperial City, witnessed the departure for glory of Bonaparte for the Italian campaign in 1796.
Since that date, Nice has continued to live to the rhythm of the Empires, a heritage that led UNESCO to inscribe the heritage of Nice on its prestigious list as the Winter Resort City of the Riviera, thanks in particular to the actions of Napoleon III and the union of Nice with France in 1860.
In this year 2021, the City of Nice is commemorating the bicentenary of the death of Napoleon I through the organization of the Imperial Days.
Throughout this weekend of October 31, 2021, film screenings and debates, round tables, readings, shows, concerts, and exhibitions have dedicated the status of Nice as an imperial city.
