Yesterday, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, and Ulrich Maly, Mayor of Nuremberg, signed the cooperation agreement of the Euromed Cities Network, of which Nuremberg is currently the chair of the energy commission. Ulrich Maly also signed the Nice Declaration, thus joining the 60 cities that have already signed.
Moreover, Ulrich Maly, who paid his respects at the memorial earlier in the day, presented the Mayor of Nice with a check for 3,000 euros. This amount was collected in Nuremberg as donations for the benefit of the victims in Nice, as a gesture of solidarity.
The Nice-Nuremberg twinning, signed on October 20, 1954, is one of the oldest twinings of Nice and one of the first Franco-German twinings. Today, it is one of the most active, dynamic, and ambitious twinings of the Metropolis.
