Each month, the Raoul Mille Library offers an event focused on the Nice book, with invited authors to talk about their works. For this Tuesday, October 11, the proposed theme was Art in Nice.
For this October, we had the opportunity to meet distinguished guests. Alain Biancheri, Jean Mas, and the Cercle Brea talked to us about the books presented on this day. The evening was hosted by Morgane Nannini, an art historian and lecturer. A look back at this evening under the sign of literature.
Alain Biancheri, from the Nude to Myths by Andrรฉ Giordan: Editions Ovadia
Andrรฉ Giordan talks to us about Alain Biancheri and his passion for Art. Whether ancient or contemporary, he has never ceased to convey his fervor through his work seeking an omnipresent perfection. Let yourself be guided by this book offering conferences, visits, or exhibitions, in order to discover the immense talent of Alain Biancheri.
20 Centuries of Sacred Art in the Southern Alps by Cercle Brea: Editions Giletta
The Cercle Brea invites us to rediscover the sacred works of the Alpes-Maritimes. From antiquity to the present day, the book transports us through the masterpieces of great masters, such as Louis Brea, Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso, or Marc Chagall. We can observe the artistic evolution reaching artists like Hugo Bogo, Jean-Pierre Auglier, or the famous Goudgi. A book of great richness for lovers of sacred art.
Nasica. The Art of Disturbing by Florence Canarelli: Editions Baie des Anges
This is a monograph aimed at understanding the work of this artist from the Nice art scene with destabilizing works. By following his journey, his evolution or his pictorial adventure, we discover the message that Nasica wants to convey to us. A cryptic gaze that only asks to be decoded.
Jean Mas. A Work by Andrรฉ Giordan: Editions Ovadia
Andrรฉ Giordan once again offers us a substantial book on the work of an exceptional artist. This time, he introduces us to the work of Jean Mas, one of the last living artists of the รcole de Nice. He is known for having created a significant and very original body of work, notably for his Cages ร Mouche or his Performas. This book is a good opportunity to approach his work and become aware of its scope.
As with the previous one, this Nice book event was a wonderful initiative for discovery and encounter. Next time, we will reunite for Nice and You on Tuesday, November 8, still at the Raoul Mille Library.
