The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, has just announced that in order to maintain social distancing between tables and loungers on private beaches, temporary occupation of the maritime public domain could be considered.
Nice au Cลur opposes this idea, which would result in reducing the area of public beaches to the benefit of private beaches.
Such a decision would lead to overcrowding on public beaches, making it impossible for their users to apply social distancing while the clients of private beaches would benefit from it.
This would create a real inequality between those who can afford it and those who cannot, which is unacceptable.
