The City of Nice has been awarded the “My Community has Heart” label, driven by the RMC-BFM association, which promotes good local practices in terms of cardiac rhythm prevention. 131 communities are labeled in France.
133 defibrillators are installed in public buildings accessible to the residents of Nice. A major awareness campaign has been conducted on several occasions.
First, in partnership with the 20,000 Lives association and with financial support from the CNP Assurances Foundation, an awareness campaign focused on cardiac massage was organized, involving several stages of training and education.
On June 18, 2014: A public awareness day “The Call of the Heart” on Place Garibaldi in partnership with SDIS, Civil Protection, Samu, the Red Cross, and the City/Metropolis Training Service – 1,500 people participated in this event.
On June 19: A cardiac massage awareness booth “open bar” during the Nice Jazz Festival in partnership with SDIS 06.
From October 16 to November 5: 1-hour awareness sessions for small groups of 300 people on cardiac massage and defibrillator handling in the 13 Recreation and Leisure Centers of the City in partnership with SDIS, Civil Protection, Samu, the Red Cross.
During the 2014-2015 school year: Training of 3,400 CM1 class children in 87 primary schools in life-saving gestures. This “Alert, Massage, Defibrillate” training is conducted by the Municipal Police during road safety prevention time. Each child practices on a mini Anne-type mannequin to replicate the instructor’s gestures.
Throughout 2014: Training of 600 agents from the City, Metropolis NCA, and CCAS in the Level 1 Civic Prevention and Rescue Certificate by the training service of the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.
