The 2025 edition of the Nice Carnival starts this Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Until March 2, restrictions are in place throughout the city.
With this event, traffic will be difficult and regulated in certain areas of Nice. Some roads will be diverted and/or blocked. Here are the main routes affected to facilitate your travel.
Restrictions on the Promenade and its surroundings
The avenue lanes will be partially closed on Thursday, February 13. Traffic will be regulated but not prohibited from 8 PM to midnight along the Promenade des Anglais. For the rest of the carnival, streets will be closed from February 15 to March 1. This includes the Promenade des Anglais, the south lane from Rue Sauvan to Avenue Max-Gallo, and the north lane from Avenue Max-Gallo to Boulevard Gambetta.
Avenue Max-Gallo, Place Massรฉna, the Liautaud tunnel, and Rue Desboutin will also be blocked. Part of Boulevard Jean-Jaurรจs and Avenue Fรฉlix-Faure, Avenue de Verdun, and part of Rue Saint-Franรงois-de-Paule will also be closed. Quai des รtats-Unis and Quai Rauba-Capeรน will be reversed in direction.
In the Old Nice area, traffic will be regulated but not prohibited from February 13 to March 1. This concerns the corsi and flower battles.

Disruptions in public transport
Due to the preparation of the festival, route changes will be made on several bus lines. Some tram lines will also be affected. The carnival will cause several interruptions on lines 1, 8+, 12+, 57, and 98.
According to Lignes dโAzur, disruptions are expected on Saturdays February 15 and 22 as well as March 1 from 11 AM until the end of service. These disturbances are also anticipated on Tuesdays February 18 and 25 from 5 PM. They will last until the end of the day, and on Wednesdays February 19 and 26 from 11 AM to 7 PM.
Modifications will also be made to the routes on Sunday February 23 from 11 AM to 7 PM and on Friday February 28 from 4:30 PM until the end of service.
