Nice Carnival: Security at Its Maximum

Latest News

The security arrangement for the 134th Nice Carnival is, according to Georges François Leclerc, very high.

For the Prefect, the arrangement relies above all on a spirit of solidarity with both the municipality and the prefecture on one hand, and on the other hand, the idea that it is indeed the entire city of Nice that is protected today, not just the heart of the event.

The deployment of police officers, gendarmes, municipal agents, and private security guards is based on innovative measures, both aerial, maritime, and technological.

Georges François Leclerc is pleased: “We are not going to race for the number of police officers, because it varies from day to day, from event to event. What I can tell you,” he continues, “is that the arrangement currently under the orders of the departmental director of public security is tailored for very large events.”

In agreement with Christian Estrosi, Prefect Leclerc wants to ensure that security is as effective as possible and serves only the event.

Christian Estrosi, himself, is sure that these upcoming days of flower battles, daytime carnival parades, and night events will be tremendous days, both for the city’s image, for its hospitality, and for the economy.

With half a million visitors for 160/170 thousand tickets sold, there are inevitably significant economic benefits for the city’s businesses.

It is therefore essential that the celebrations are as successful as possible.
