As the national Pink October campaign has just been launched, the Health and Autonomy Directorate of the city of Nice will offer an afternoon dedicated to it this Friday at the Garibaldi House of Associations.
Stalls, conferences, workshops, and artistic activities will be offered free of charge to visitors.
Even though the Pink October campaign mainly targets breast cancer, the City of Nice has decided to support all healthcare workers, associations, and partners who work daily in the fight against all forms of cancer.
Many events and activities are also scheduled for this afternoon, including a large pink Nordic walking event organized by Gym Dante and an artistic performance by artist Valérie Arboireau, who will create a Pink October canvas from your kisses. Not to mention the scarf tying workshop by the League Against Cancer 06, gentle gym sessions by CAMI, or sophrology sessions by Véronique Vernette.
The amphitheater of the Garibaldi House of Associations will also offer a program of conferences on cancer-related topics with Prof. Maurice Schneider (League Against Cancer 06) and Claire Petit (CPAM) discussing “The Importance of Prevention,” Claire Granon (APREMAS) on “Screening,” Kais Razzouk (Santa Maria Breast Institute) on “The Cocooning Approach to Patient Care,” Dr. Bernard Flipo (St George Clinic) on “Innovations in Care,” and Marie-Christine Bareille (Clairs Horizons) on “Resilience and Prevention of Recurrence.”
The opening of this event will take place at 2 PM by Prof. Olivier Guérin, Deputy in charge of Health, and will be hosted by Dr. Christiane Amiel, municipal councilor, with the presence of partner associations.
