The Cougourdons Festival is the first Niçoise festival of the year.
It is an opportunity to immerse oneself in the festive atmosphere of the early 20th century, characterized by the songs and dances of the County of Nice: stalls with decorated cougourdon, local products (échaudés, fougassettes, socca, pan bagnat…), and performances.
The event gathers more than 3,000 people each year.
This friendly festival is an opportunity to meet many artists who are passionate about this much-favored vegetable. One such artist is Yves Rousguisto. This teacher, musician, and luthier has brought the cougourdon back into fashion and will reveal his passion by presenting traditional instruments made from this squash.
Participating in the event are: la Ciamada Nissarda, Nice la belle, lou Caïreu niçart, the music of the firefighter brigade and the Voices of Nice, Nikaïachor, the Sospel Cougourdons, the lanciours-Comité des traditions vésubiennes, Li Rauba Capeu, and the presenters Aurélie Basso and Gilles Roche.
