It’s not a grand tradition like in Lyon, but Nice also has its Festival of Lights.
A good number of citizens participated yesterday late in the afternoon, walking in procession along the route from the forecourt of the South Station to the Saint-Jean d’Arc Church.
Each person carried a small light, a symbol of peace, hope, and fraternity.
The artist Gaspare Di Caro created the illumination of the church’s facade, a beautiful effect as night fell.
A vocal concert concluded the ceremony, and a friendly aperitif wrapped up the evening.
