Nice celebrates World Environment Day.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, declared in 1974 by the United Nations, the City of Nice is offering numerous free activities for the general public on June 5th on the Promenade du Paillon from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM and all day at the Maison de l’Environnement.

◊◊◊ Program on the Promenade du Paillon

· Exhibition on ecological and social transitions with an educational and fun guided tour by Les Petits Débrouillards

· Repair Café: repair of broken items (appliances, electronics, toys, sewing, etc.)

· Recycling information and activities by the Recycleries of Associations Gallice and Actes Ressources

· Information and activities on food waste by the Waste Management Agency

· Information on Nice’s drinking water by the Régie Eau d’Azur

· Information on international solidarity and deforestation prevention by the Sens Solidaire Association

· Awareness on pollination and the world of bees followed by candle making with beeswax by the Natur’abelha association

· Artistic recycling using books and readings on ecology by the Louis Nucera Library

◊◊◊ Program at the Maison de l’Environnement

· From 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: introduction to ecological gardening with Shilakong (for ages 5-10)

· From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: creation of a slate board to avoid paper waste with Morgane Grebert (for ages 6-10)

· At 2:00 PM (ages 7-12), 3:00 PM (ages 5-7), or 4:00 PM (ages 3-5): making a pretty, original box from recycled materials with Jasmine Taibbe
