The councilors, elected on the Nice Blue Marine list to the Nice City Council, being almost entirely newcomers to politics, probably did not know that the National Front is a party that appreciates order and discipline!
Thus, a few days after preferring one of their own for the position of President of the municipal group in the person of Guillaume Aral, instead of Marie-Christine Arnautu, the National Directorate informed them of their exclusion, with a prohibition on using the party’s name and logo, under penalty of initiating legal proceedings for “identity theft”.
We still have some difficulty in fully understanding the facts and their motivation, the disproportion between the motives of some – “our approach is not against Marie-Christine Arnautu but the logical consequence of a state of affairs. Due to her commitments in Paris and Brussels, she was never there,” said Guillaume Aral – and the reaction of others, namely Marie-Christine Arnautu and Marc-André Domergue, who revised themselves, of the action of other elected officials: “those people only think about the position they obtained thanks to the national policy of the FN. They also forgot the membership card subscribed before the elections. Furthermore, they are manipulated by my former campaign director, Gaël Nofri, whom I define as “a moral crook with a double personality”.
The newly elected member of the European Parliament refuses all the grievances made against her: “I can demonstrate that I am domiciled in Nice and that I never refused commission work but preferred to give way to others more present than me; Besides, my European commitments were predictable and well known by my former running mates who never had anything to say about it” – said the leader of the Front list in a dry tone.
“We regret the decision of the Parisian authorities who did not understand the meaning of our action,” declared Guillaume Aral. According to him, the decision of the five elected was “purely local, aimed at reorganizing the group to make it more effective”.
In fact, at the City Council meeting on June 20, we will witness the “moment of truth”: Who will speak and on behalf of whom?
For the moment, the FN/Nice Blue Marine has two councilors while the dissidents are five in number, their names not yet known… unless it is simply Nice Blue Marine (pending the announced legal proceedings).
