As in the previous edition, the festival will take place in two magical and inspiring locations: the “Matisse Stage,” amidst the gardens of the Arรจnes de Cimiez, and the Cloister of the Monastery of Cimiez, from which the view of the city and the sea is already an invitation to travel…
“From July 20 to August 15, open-air evenings, classical and jazz to celebrate our reunion, after long months of silence, aware of the joy of being able to share music again,” announces Marie-Josรจphe Jude, Artistic Director of Nice Classic Live, President of the Nice Summer International Academy*, who presents the program.
“This year marks the 50th anniversary of Stravinsky’s passing, the 100th anniversary of Camille Saint-Saรซns’s passing, and the centenary of Piazzolla’s birth. We will celebrate them, but Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Bizet, Ravel, Debussy will of course also be present: to bring them to life, I will have the luck of being surrounded, like every summer, by the prestigious team of artists who come to teach at the Nice Summer International Academy, whom I thank from the bottom of my heart for their faithful presence: 54 musicians from all horizons whom I invite you to discover throughout “My Summer in Nice.”
We will have the privilege of welcoming Natalie Dessay for a recital with her partner Philippe Cassard, the Nice CRR Orchestra conducted by Thierry Muller for an evening of songs from musicals performed by Neima Naouri. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice will present an exceptional evening, with Laurent Petitgirard, conductor and composer, in a program featuring his concerto for flute and harp, as well as Bizet, Ravel and Saint-Saรซns, with soloists Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Vincent Lucas, and Gilles Apap. The festival will end with beautiful jazz evenings, featuring among others Pierre Bertrand, Thomas Ecoh, and Vassilena Serafimova.”
