It has already been 50 years since Jean Médecin, who was the “consul of Nissa” and the most prominent political figure in his city for nearly half a century, left this earthly life.
In 1919, he became a municipal councilor of Nice, and then in 1928, the mayor of Nice, where he gained true fame allowing him to rule the city for 37 years.
His son Jacques succeeded him, but that is a whole different story.
A commemoration for the 50th anniversary of his passing will take place this Friday, December 18, at 5 PM, at the amphitheater of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice.
