On May 25th, at 6 PM, a grand concert by the students of the Harmonia Orchestra will take place at the Pierre Cochereau National Conservatory of Regional Influence, Auditorium Joseph Kosma (127, avenue de Brancolar โ Nice) as part of a cultural exchange with Japan.
On this occasion, from Monday, May 23, to Sunday, May 29, 2011, the Nice Conservatory will host the Education Social Academy (ESA) from Osaka, a private Japanese music institute for wind instruments. These students will stay with host families and will be guided by the teachers of the Conservatory.
The project is coordinated by Yves Cayrol, conductor, Artistic Director of ESA, and Gilles Swierc, clarinetist, and professor at the conservatories of Nice and Antibes. Longtime friends, both initiated this meeting, which aims to achieve the following objectives:
– Cross-disciplinary achievements between French and Japanese students in collaboration with all the teachers from the wind and percussion departments of the Nice Conservatory,
– Establishing lasting links between ESA and French teachers,
– Possible hosting of French students in Osaka,
– Raising public awareness in Nice around wind instruments.
This week, rich in cultural and artistic exchanges, will culminate in the magnificent concert on Wednesday, May 25, in the Auditorium Joseph Kosma of the Nice Conservatory.
