Nice Côte d’Azur is acquiring electric service scooters.

Latest News

On Friday, September 18th, the Municipal Council of the City of Nice approved a decision regarding the creation of a joint procurement group between the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Urban Community.

The first illustration of this pooling of general resources and the vehicle fleet, initiated with the aim of achieving unified resource management:

Christian Estrosi, Minister in charge of Industry, Mayor of Nice, and President of Nice Côte d’Azur, presented on Monday the very first electric scooters made available to the personnel of both entities for their travel (City of Nice and Urban Community).

These 6 scooters have a recharging cost of about €0.50 for 50 km instead of €6 for a scooter running on gasoline.

Their features:
– Range: 80 km
– Maximum speed: 45 km/h
– Charging time: 3 hours
– Purchase cost: €2,615.45 including VAT per unit.

This action is part of the 10 “Anti-waste” measures taken by the two entities for an eco-responsible policy.

By equipping itself with a clean vehicle fleet, Nice supports the government “clean vehicles” plan that was presented on September 23rd by Jean-Louis Borloo. Furthermore, the order for these scooters was placed jointly by the city and the urban community, which allowed for economies of scale (reduction in unit prices).
