In 2009, Nice made sports licenses free for young people aged 8 to 17. To continue this initiative, the city is offering this year the possibility for the 46,000 youths aged 6 to 18 to reduce registration fees when joining a Nice sports association affiliated with a federation recognized by the Ministry of Health and Sports. Given the recognized benefits of sport, Dr. Bruno Sesboüé explains in an interview the advantages we can gain from engaging in physical activity. He also provides information on [sports practice](https://www.doctissimo.fr/html/forme/mag_2000/mag2306/fo_1894_sport_sante.htm).
What are the eligibility requirements?
– For recipients of the School Clothing Allowance (ARS) or the Disabled Child Education Allowance (AEEH), there is a flat rate aid of €40.
– The City of Nice will grant €10 to each youth if the sports membership fee is less than €150, and an aid of €20 if the membership fee is €150 or more.
– The corresponding aid payments will be made to the clubs, based on a summary table to be completed by the sports associations and accompanied by the required supporting documents (copy of the ARS or AEEH certificate only).
