This Tuesday, November 8, was an opportunity to reunite at the literary event Nice et Vous. This time, the theme was based on detective novels. The invited authors were able to talk to us about their creations.
Parole d’honneur by Jacques Alessandra: Baie des Anges Editions
Jacques Alessandra offers here a new investigation to his dear detective, Attila Farkas, alias Coco from Nice. This new novel is intended to be more personal for the author, particularly regarding his pied-noir origins, a common point he shares with his main character. The plot centers on crimes committed in Nice, specifically targeting Algerian culture. An investigation just as delightful, but with a more poignant touch, thanks to this parallel between Coco’s story and his creator’s.
The Knights by Nicole Benoît: Numéria Editions
Nicole Benoît has done an impressive amount of historical research to best convey her immersive plot. We follow a group of knights attempting to solve the mystery surrounding a missing painting. A total dive into this fascinating past, with charismatic characters and a well-crafted plot. A true masterstroke.
Crime in the Bay by Bernard Deloupy: Giletta Editions
With his background as a journalist, Bernard Deloupy shares some insights about the local mafia through his experience. Between fiction and reality, the author entangles our minds to blur the line between these two distinctions. A plot that drags us into the heart of criminal circles with chilling methods. Recommended for readers seeking thrills.
Very Dear Églantine by Martine Mulineris: Editions Au Pays Rêvé
Martine Mulineris marks her debut novel here, and it can be said that it’s frankly a success. This novel is a tribute to the victims of the terrible attack on July 14, 2016, on the Promenade des Anglais. A plot that chronicles a chase during this tragic event. A gripping novel that manages to keep us on the edge of our seats throughout.
And once again, it was an exciting event we could attend. Next time, the theme will be brighter, as it will be held during the holiday season. One thing is for sure, we won’t miss the next meeting.
