In December 2011 and January 2012
The fifteen Leisure Animation Centers (CAL) of the city of Nice are open all year round, in all corners of the city, to the citizens of Nice. They are the ultimate municipal facilities nearby for relaxation, entertainment, and rejuvenation alone or with family.
A rich cultural program is offered throughout the year, at very attractive rates, for the little ones with storytelling shows and theater plays, and for the older ones with exhibitions of local Nice artists, shows, and also theater…
“Night Stroll” by Daniel Barré until December 31, 2011, at CAL Gorbella
Daniel Barré, a former building project manager specializing in the restoration of old stones, excels in the representation of streets and buildings: picturesque streets, buildings, squares, public facilities, characters, and objects that populate our avenues and alleys… The artist shares with us the emotions he felt during his urban wanderings.
“Retrospective” by Patrick de Beaussier until December 31, 2011, at CAL Caucade
Patrick de Beaussier is a painter, sculptor, poet, and writer. His various passions always bring him back to the essential: the line he masters so well and which pervades all his work. This line is found everywhere, in his elegant and sharp prose and his verses that often accompany his paintings. He connects in three dimensions sculptures where bodies reveal themselves. A very fine technique at the service of abundant imagination and creativity.
“On the Trail of Spirituality” by Auré and François Pochulu until January 15, 2012, at CAL Notre Dame
Crossed works of Auré, a recent graduate in plastic arts, and her grandfather François. Both share the same passion for art and crafting. Together, they create pieces where painting and sculpture merge.
“Nativity Cribs of Trades” by the French Association of Friends of the Crèche until December 31, 2011, at CAL Gorbella
Through its activities, the association maintains and develops the various traditions of Christmas, Epiphany, and the nativity scene by creating animations and nativity exhibitions. A national nativity scene competition is also organized.
“Urban City” by the Photon collective until January 15, 2012, at CAL Saint Pancrace
PHOTON is a non-profit association (law 1901) bringing together photographers from the Alpes-Maritimes. This collective aims to promote regional photographers. It helps them achieve their projects and disseminate their work, through personal or collective exhibitions, in various locations.
The Urban City exhibition showcases photographs of places, monuments, urban objects… snapshots of our cities.
