The traveling magazine “In the footsteps of Jesus in Nice” will be broadcast this Sunday at 10 a.m.
On Sunday, December 29th at 10 a.m., the program “Le Jour du Seigneur” will offer a special edition dedicated to the city of Nice. In collaboration with “Prรฉsence protestante,” this ecumenical event invites viewers to discover the capital of the French Riviera from a spiritual and cultural perspective.
After Lille, Montpellier, Nantes, Metz, and Poitiers, “In the footsteps of Jesus” makes a stop in Nice. The journalist Christelle Ploquin takes viewers on a stroll through the heart of the city and its surroundings. This journey highlights local traditions, religious history, and the identity of this Mediterranean metropolis.
The figurines from the hinterland, the heritage of the Penitents, and the influence of Marc Chagall punctuate this exploration. The program will also pay homage to the victims of the July 14, 2016 attack and to the Marcel Network, which saved many Jews during World War II. These references anchor the story in a collective memory marked by resilience and solidarity.
Local initiatives highlighted
The program will also highlight the actions of Nice’s Christians. Solidarity projects such as “Alfred’s Workshop” or “Smile Cycle” demonstrate a commitment to a more inclusive society. The preparations for the Nice Carnival illustrate the city’s creative energy.
“We want to show how Nice, with its history and diversity, fits into a universal spiritual perspective,โ explains Christelle Ploquin.
A few days after Christmas, this program offers a moment of reflection and discovery. It’s a way to begin the year by highlighting the human and spiritual richness of Nice. Tune in on Sunday at 10 a.m. on France 2.
