Nice holds its Pink Parade because equality can no longer wait.

Latest News

This afternoon, the grand multicolored parade of the Pink Parade will march through the streets and avenues of Nice with a slogan directly related to the legislative election taking place on Sunday: Equality can’t wait any longer.

So, make sure to join from 4 PM on Avenue Saint Jean Baptiste at the foot of “la tรชte au carrรฉ” to form the procession which will conclude its journey with a friendly and convivial Pink Drink at Yves Klein Square.

This yearโ€™s novelty is that the Pink takes place before the start of summer to allow as many people as possible to participate, as the event usually happens in July when many are already on vacation. Nearly 5000 attendees are expected for this march of visibility which aims to be as festive as it is informative about the rights and, just as well, the duties of gay, lesbian, transsexual, and bisexual communities.

The celebration should be perfect, as usual, even though an extremist Catholic group, Civitas, has announced their intention to intervene by distributing stickers against gay marriage, prompting a strong reaction from the Mayor, Christian Estrosi, who condemned these remarks and assured that he would ensure the 2012 festivities run as smoothly as possible.

Unfortunately, stupidity is a daily occurrence in life, but if you love life, joy, colors, music, and festivities, an afternoon offering all of that awaits you!
