More than just an event focused on electronic music, the festival’s ambition is to incorporate music (jazz, pop, soul, etc.) that has influenced the work of the creators featured in each edition. The programming policy also favors performances by groups combining electronic music, acoustic instrumentation, and electro-acoustic elements.
Nu-ziQ also aims to highlight creators of visual digital arts, whether they are VJs (video jockeys) or contemporary visual artists.
In July 2006, the Elektron association organizes Nu-ziQ for the third consecutive year, a festival of visual arts and new music in Nice.
Nu-ziQ is a multidisciplinary event that aims to promote new music as well as visual arts in all their forms:
– Music
– Video
– Visual Art
– Lifestyle
The Nu-ziQ festival features:
– Open-air concerts
– Recreational concerts
– Visual projections
– Exhibitions and openings
– An afternoon of artistic and musical wandering
The goal of the Nu-ziQ festival is to provide a platform for electronic music artists to perform, to enhance the work of regional digital art creators, whether they are VJs or contemporary visual artists, to bring together local and international players in digital culture, and to reveal lesser-known aspects of electronic culture.
600 people attended in 2004, over 6000 in 2005, and this 2006 edition may reach the critical milestone of 10,000 attendees. We wish all the best to this dynamic team.
This year, Nu-ziQ is dedicated to the memory of Yann Quelenec, a journalist passionate about electronic music and a respected and recognized activist. He tragically passed away this yearโฆ Rest in peace, Yann.
