The Santo-Estello is the name given to the Fรฉlibrige congress, which is held once a year in a different town within the Occitan regions. This cultural and festive event aims to promote the language and culture of the Occitan regions.
Over the course of 5 days, concerts, meetings, conferences, theater, debates, shows, and various activities will take place. Sainte-Estelle gathers several hundred Fรฉlibrige members each year.
On this occasion, this Sunday after mass in Niรงard at the Sainte-Rรฉparate Cathedral, a Grand pass-carriรจre will follow in the old town (a parade of Fรฉlibrige schools representing the associations of Aquitaine, Auvergne, Gascogne-Haut Languedoc, Languedoc-Roussillon, Limousin, and Provence).
The last Santo-Estello in Nice dates back to 1982, after those in 1936 and 1960. Since 2011, for the first time in 140 years, the Queen of Fรฉlibrige elected for 7 years (chosen by the Grand Laureate of the septenary floral games, Jean-Luc Gag) is from Nice: Angรฉlique Marรงais. This will be an opportunity to honor her as well as the Majoraux who were Pierre Devoluy, Joseph Giordan, Francis Gag, Andrรฉ Compan, and Adolphe Viani.
