This weekend at the Palais des Congrès Acropolis, the Urban Communities Days of France are taking place. Nice, as the first Metropolis of France starting from next January 1st, will host the future French Metropolises.
The 39th edition of the Urban Communities Days of France, which gathers more than 400 elected officials and technicians around the sixteen presidents of urban community*, will be hosted this year, for the first time, by the Nice Côte d’Azur Urban Community.
At a time when the reforms affecting our local authorities are being implemented and the ministerial decree establishing the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur, the 1st Metropolis of France presided over by Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, has been published in the official journal of the French Republic, this congress will be an opportunity to debate, notably, around four themes: assessment and financial challenges of urban communities, housing and urban planning after Grenelle 2, metropolises and metropolitan poles, modes of management of public services.
During the debates on Friday, November 18, 2011, the sixteen presidents of urban communities will engage in dialogue with representatives of associations of local elected officials (AMF, ARF, ADF, AMGVF, AdCF) and the Minister in charge of Local Authorities, Philippe RICHERT.
