Who hasn’t played Monopoly at some point?
A rainy day, an evening by the fire in the mountains, or simply a family afternoon where the father accumulates hotels and bankrupts you with each pass, everyone has that kind of memory tucked away in the back of their mind.
Many editions have been released since the creation of this game in 1933. Coca-Cola, National Parks, Las Vegas, Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, Pokemon, Garfield, World Cup, Nascar, etc., and even regional editions featuring the names of streets from major French cities, have been marketed.
In 2005, the game was released in nearly 26 languages.
And for the upcoming municipal elections, HASBRO, the publisher of the famous Monopoly, is offering us the chance to vote for our city to be included in the future 2008 Monopoly. Indeed, in the future, it will no longer be about strolling through the streets of Paris but – based on municipal themes – exploring the cities of France.
The principle is simple: the more votes a city receives, the higher it climbs towards Rue de la Paix.
To view the ranking and participate in the competition, visit www.monopoly.fr where you will find the list of board game streets alongside the cities chosen by internet users, for the 2008 Monopoly.
The competition will close on October 10th. So there is still a bit of time to raise our beautiful city in the ranking and get it into the top 22 cities that will be featured in the 2008 edition of the famous game.
The most “voted” city for now is … Montcuq!!! A buzz orchestrated by internet users following the death of television host Jacques Martin.
So, don’t wait any longer and go vote for NICE to see the capital of the Alpes Maritimes feature prominently in this 2008 edition of MONOPOLY.
