On Saturday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 27, starting at 2:30 PM, the departmental Museum of Asian Arts is offering, under the artistic direction of Gérard Bertin, an introduction to throat singing.
Throat singing is a very ancient vocal art, practiced throughout the Altai region. In the past, the singers who excelled in this art were shepherds living on the remote foothills of Western Mongolia.
This generic term applies when a singer overlays two sounds simultaneously with their voice.
