The collective of associations, composed of AFD 06, Lider Diabetes, La Maison du Diabète, Valentin Hauy, and Kididiabetes, in collaboration with the city of Nice and the CPAM06, invites you to a day of information, awareness, and diabetes screening on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 10 am to 5 pm at Garibaldi Square.
A day not to be missed for diabetics of all ages but also for those who support them daily (partners, parents, friends, teachers, coaches, etc.).
The aim of this day is to provide collective information about diabetes through conferences, stands, and numerous activities which will take place at Garibaldi Square, the Garibaldi Community House, and the Saint-François pool.
The conferences will be held in the amphitheater of the Garibaldi Community House from 9:45 am to 1 pm with, on the agenda: Presentation of type 1 and 2 diabetes, Sports and diabetes, Nutrition and diabetes, and diabetes in children (see full program at the end of the article).
In the Avelanie Room, from 9:45 am to 1 pm, fitness and sports test workshops will be offered by the PACA Regional Committee, followed by a conference from CPAM 06.
In the Luerna Room, from 9:45 am to 12 pm, children can have fun participating in a drawing workshop, getting face painted, or creating their “Pan Frucha” (fruit-filled Pan Bagnat) in a culinary workshop led by Franck Viano, former winner of the show “Un dîner presque parfait.” Then from 2 pm to 5 pm, the AFD06 workshop to promote the “Elan solidaire” initiative by offering “meeting/sharing” workshops led by expert patients.
At Garibaldi Square, 5 stands will be available to learn all about diabetes. Stand No. 1 will be managed by the associations AFD06, UFR STAPS, DIAB06, and AJD who will inform and discuss the disease. Stand No. 2 will host three other associations: Kididiabetes (information on type 1 diabetes), Little D (medical stylist), and ISIS Diabetes (insulin therapy specialist) as well as the SDIS 06 for first aid demonstrations. Stand No. 3 will offer screenings under the aegis of the LIDER Diabetes association and chromatic and balance tests by the association Valentin Hauy. Stand No. 4 will be reserved for La Maison du Diabète and their “diabetic foot” workshop but also for FFSPT and their Forme Plus Sport test. Finally, Stand No. 5 will be dedicated to CPAM 06 and its Active Health Program as well as the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis for information on waste collection.
At the Saint François pool (Place St François – Old Nice), David ZIRAH and his team of professional divers will offer free diving trials for all diabetics aged 7 to 77 from 2 pm to 5 pm (Reservations required by email: jmd2015@dive4all.fr)
