Nice is committed to Autism Awareness Day tomorrow.

Latest News

The city of Nice remains committed to promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities. In alignment with this commitment, it is organizing, in collaboration with GEMA06 (Autism Mutual Aid Group of the Alpes Maritimes), various local associations, and the Autism Resource Center, a day of information and exchanges on the evocative theme of โ€œAutism by Autisticsโ€.

From 10:30 AM to 5 PM, roundtables and informal discussions will be at the heart of the event. They will address crucial topics such as โ€œThe world of healthcare seen by autistics,โ€ โ€œFor equal opportunities,โ€ and โ€œAutism in the face of violence and discrimination.โ€

Julie Dachez, who holds a PhD in social psychology and is a fervent advocate for the rights of autistic people, will lead a compelling conference on the theme of โ€œAutism and Employmentโ€ starting at 5 PM. Alongside the lively exchanges, exhibitions and information stands will be available throughout the day. These are proposed by committed partners such as the city of Nice, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, the Nice CCAS, GEMA, Autisme 06, among others.

To enable parents to fully participate in the discussions, a designated space will be set up to welcome children supervised by volunteer educators. Additionally, there will be a โ€œrespiteโ€ area accessible to adults seeking peace and quiet.

Meanwhile, the department of Alpes-Maritimes will organize workshops and roundtables on the theme โ€œautism and employmentโ€ . Join us this Friday, April 5 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Espace Laure Ecard.
