Welcome to the Nice Christmas market. It is among numerous fir trees, 50 chalets with different and enchanting worlds, a multitude of decorations, and a large ice rink that you will be able to immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas.
For 12 years, this event has become one of the highlights of the year-end festivities. Our dear Italian neighbors even come to the Côte d’Azur to enjoy this festive atmosphere. But in Nice, times are changing and Christmas under the palm trees is over. Make way for an immense and beautiful forest of fir trees. As a symbol of this magical period, a towering 13-meter tree from Sweden is placed behind the ice rink. Once illuminated, it should bring all its radiance to the Masséna forum. It alone will transport you to other horizons. With an increasingly growing attendance, this enchanting village can boast of delighting both young and old.
For our little ones, numerous activities are planned. If you have a sporty temperament, the ice rink is waiting for you to shine with a thousand lights. Others, more indulgent, can rejoice as well, as they won’t be left out. Between the traditional candy apple or cotton candy, you have the opportunity to discover local products. Moreover, Isabelle Billey-Quéré, Press Officer at the Nice tourist office, does not hide her enthusiasm. This project aims solely “to bring the heart of the city to life during the year-end holidays.” That’s why this initiative is experiencing “great success with the entire population.” Whether you are big or small doesn’t matter; the essential thing is to share and discover.
And speaking of discovery, that is precisely on the agenda this year. For a change, many artisanal demonstrations will take place. Between traditional cheese making and shepherd dog exercises, the Upper country is in the spotlight. Farm animals will also be part of the event. It’s an opportunity for a family trip, to get acquainted with forgotten trades and to get close to animals that are so inaccessible nowadays.
