This Thursday, March 24th, starting at 1 PM on the Promenade des Anglais, the 4th edition of the Ronde des Facs will take place on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. Once again this year, this edition will bring together all the components of UNS.
Organized by students and staff of the University Nice Sophia Antipolis, this event, which is sporty, charitable, cross-disciplinary, and unifying, aims to bring the entire university community together: students and staff (teachers, teacher-researchers, researchers, and administrative and technical staff), university affiliates or assimilated members.
Marked by friendliness and fraternity, the Ronde des Facs is also an action of solidarity for people with disabilities. Like in other years, the symbolic registration fee (1 euro) will be donated to the Solidarity Association for Disabled University Students of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (ASHUNIS).
This year, the unique feature of this event is to promote, in addition to the usual timed 4km race, a sports walk accessible to everyone, whether athletes or non-athletes, while participating in a challenge per campus.
With sedentariness increasingly recognized as promoting health problems, this 4th Ronde des Facs also aims to create a dynamic of information and actions within a “health prevention plan” to help improve the quality of life of the university population.
The University Foundation UNICE, established in 2010, will participate alongside the University in this event. The foundation’s mission includes supporting student education and facilitating their professional integration. The UNICE Foundation team will present actions in favor of students around the theme: Equal Opportunities at the UNS/Foundation stand.
The sponsor of the Ronde des Facs, Stรฉphane Diagana (athletics), will join the celebration alongside Valรฉrie Nicolas (handball) and Olivier Echouafni (football), both former UNS students, for the prize-giving. President Albert Marouani will join them to present a computer, funded by the Unice Foundation, to a disabled UNS student.

Sport and well-being
From now on, the intention is to make the most of this annual event (friendly, festive, sporty, and supportive) of the University Nice Sophia Antipolis, to gather, work on physical fitness and health throughout the year.
Sedentariness is increasingly recognized as promoting health issues.
One of the objectives of the Ronde des Facs (RDF) is thus to create a dynamic of information and actions (part of a Health Prevention Plan) to contribute to improving the well-being and quality of life of the university population (and therefore each of us).
This year, the unique feature of this event is to promote (in addition to various activities and the 4 km race) a sports walk that is accessible to all (athletes or non-athletes, without the condition of a medical certificate), while participating in a challenge per campus.
