For the past 9 years, the city of Nice, around forty association and institutional partners, UNICEF, and CAF, have been organizing a week of activities for all children and their families, on the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of the Child on November 20th.
This year, the theme is “the right to leisure”: more than 60 activities, including around forty open to the general public, will take place in all neighborhoods of the city: writing workshops, activities, storytelling, exhibitions, concerts, meetings, conferences, debates, quizzes, readings, shows, sports relays, film screenings, treasure hunts…
This year, for the first time, 2 shows will open and close this wonderful festive week:
Wednesday, November 14 at 3 PM at the Opรฉra de Nice: Opening show of the Children’s Rights Week: “Le Ouf du roi,” youth theater by the company MIRANDA
We are in 2012, in a housing estate like many others… In the middle of a vacant lot, among graffiti and car carcasses, an old wall seems to be the only witness of an ancient and mysterious time, the time of fairy tales. It is here that Guillaume Pinson will appear, a playful jester in multicolored tights straight out of the Middle Ages. Thanks to his antics, he will transform the dreary daily life of the characters in this housing estate. In return, he will learn the art of Hip Hop. A tale of yesterday and today blending medieval tunes, rap, and hip hop dance. An explosive mix of genres.
Wednesday, November 21 at 3 PM at the Opรฉra de Nice: Closing show of the Children’s Rights Week “Quel cirque le Franรงais!” Dance and Theater by the Association Forum Nice Nord.
This show is the result of the work done by 70 children and young people from Nice Nord around the Francophonie and its values: tolerance, friendship, solidarity, and meeting.
In September 2013, in Nice, 3000 young talents from 75 Francophone countries will meet through disciplines such as basketball, cycling, athletics, photography, giant puppets, creative and hip hop dance, painting, literature, or storytelling…
On a reinvented circus ring, you will discover, often humorously, the sporting and cultural events of the Francophonie games and above all the richness and history of the French language.
