This is a major first in Nice. The association CleanTuesday, which promotes “cleantech” — in other words, innovative technologies — is inaugurating its regional office on September 15 in Nice. CleanTuesday encourages the development of innovative eco-technologies in France. “It connects project leaders with large financial groups or political decision-makers, who themselves are responsible for fostering the emergence of ‘cleantech’ in start-ups,” explains Jérôme Laffranchi, vice-president responsible for the PACA group. “These cleantech aim to help these start-ups evolve in the market,” he continues. The association’s activities focus on the energy sector, waste treatment, transportation… Established under the 1901 law, CleanTuesday was born at the end of 2008 and brings together 2000 professionals.
A CleanTuesday Evening
Four invited companies present their activities for a quarter of an hour. The companies Grand Soleil, Izypeo, Agropark, and Zenith Solar — one of the most remarkable Israeli start-ups in terms of eco-innovative technology — will be in the spotlight. The objective of a CleanTuesday evening, which takes place on Tuesday, as the name suggests, is to bring together “people who aren’t used to talking to each other,” confides Jérôme Laffranchi. The goal? “To organize synergies” around a cocktail. Unfortunately, in the field of “cleantech,” France was far behind. It is gradually adapting, sometimes creating dedicated institutions with the local example of the sustainable and economic development hub of the Nice Côte d’Azur community. Additionally, with the recent introduction of the carbon tax, political powers are coming up with ideas to encourage the French to change their behavior. Will these ideas and innovations succeed? That is, in any case, the intended goal.
