Nice is hosting one of the 23 regional finals of the Timbrés de l’orthographe!

Nearly 30,000 people participated in the selection tests for the “Timbrés de l’orthographe” organized last November in partnership with La Poste as part of the “Sharing the Emotion of Mail” program.

The 4th edition confirms the popular success of the competition (+15% compared to 2013) and its status as a key event for the French language. –


For the Côte d’Azur, nearly 600 people took part in the selection tests. In the end, around 200 candidates will compete in Nice on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 2:30 PM at the University Nice-Sophia Antipolis (Valrose site, large amphitheater), Avenue Joseph Vallo. The finalists will face 30 questions on the French language from Frédérick Gersal and a dictation by Daniel Picouly, who has agreed to take on the role of sponsor for this 4th edition. For the occasion, he will offer the candidates an unpublished text titled: “Adopt Me!”

“Timbrés de l’orthographe” now broadcast in 60 countries!

A major new feature this year, the “Timbrés de l’orthographe” are setting out to conquer the world! Thanks to the support of the Fondation Alliance française, no fewer than 130 cities (across 60 countries) are participating in these finals organized within the Alliances françaises themselves. The best candidate from each continent will be invited to the grand national final on Saturday, June 14th in Paris!
