The Nice Jazz Fest 2026 ended on Saturday, July 25th after three evenings of concerts. Despite a reduced format of one day, the festival brought together 26,000 spectators. The city of Nice highlights cost control, the development of entertainment throughout the city and several initiatives dedicated to inclusion and ecological transition.

The Nice Jazz Fest 2026 closed its doors after three evenings organized from July 23rd to 25th at the Théâtre de Verdure and on the Masséna stage. The day after the last evening, the city of Nice announced an attendance of 26,000 spectators.

This edition marked a turning point for the festival. The format changed from four to three days, meaning one less day than in 2025. A choice that had raised questions, as did the evolution of pricing policy.

The city invites however not to directly compare the results with those of the previous year due to the change from four to three days, as well as substantially different preparation conditions linked to the change of municipality.

In detail, the first evening, headlined by Sting, sold out with a capacity limited to just over 8,000 people. The two following evenings could accommodate just over 11,000 festival-goers each, for a total capacity of 22,000 people. In total, 18,000 spectators attended these two evenings. In 2025, the Nice Jazz Fest had brought together 44,000 people over four days.

Eric Ciotti, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, believes that this new formula allows preserving cultural ambitions while reducing spending. « This edition marks an important step in the festival’s renewal. By choosing a format condensed into three evenings, the city has demonstrated that it was possible to preserve artistic ambition while controlling public spending. The savings achieved, €800,000, testify to responsible management and allow the Nice Jazz Fest to be sustainably established on healthy economic foundations, without sacrificing the quality of the experience offered to the public. »

Entertainment throughout the city

Around the concerts, several events extended the Nice Jazz Fest experience. The Merenda village welcomed festival-goers in a space dedicated to food, entertainment and relaxation. DJs provided musical entertainment between the Théâtre de Verdure concerts.

The Fest’OFF also took to the streets of Nice. Over 100 artists offered free concerts, street performances and entertainment in squares, markets and various neighborhoods to bring the festival to life beyond the main stages.

The inaugural edition of the Nice Music Lab x Sacem University Springboard allowed six emerging artists from the Alpes-Maritimes and Var to present a fifteen-minute concert before a jury of professionals. Sponsored by Manu Katchè, this initiative provides professional support for the three winning artists during the 2026-2027 season.

The city of Nice also set up a space dedicated to corporate social and environmental responsibility. The initiative included notably a Safe Zone designed to prevent gender-based and sexual violence, several prevention stands on addictions, discrimination and hearing risks, awareness-raising actions against violence against women as well as measures dedicated to waste sorting and reducing pollution from cigarette butts.

In his report, Eric Ciotti praised the commitment of festival-goers and teams mobilized during the festival. « The success of this edition owes much to the faithful and enthusiastic presence of festival-goers, and particularly Nice residents, who came in large numbers to share these moments of music and celebration. Their attachment to the Nice Jazz Fest is the best proof that this event is fully part of our city’s identity. » The Mayor of Nice also thanked the municipal staff, technicians, organizers, partners and volunteers who contributed to the success of this edition.
