Yesterday, the Conservatoire National de Nice hosted the press conference for the launch of the upcoming Nice Jazz Festival 2013, which will take place from July 8 to 12, sponsored by the Nice-born drummer André Ceccarelli.
This edition is thus under the sign of trance, tempo, energy, breath, and vibration, offering lovers of these genres a mix of well-known and lesser-known names such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Ben Harper, Chick Corea, and George Benson.
After John McLaughlin in 2011, and jazz “diva” Dee Dee Bridgewater in 2012, it is André “Dédé” Ceccarelli who will be our sponsor for the 2013 edition, which has the heavy task of living up to the highly successful previous edition, which was crowned with numerous records.
This year, the NJF will take place at the heart of the Coulée Verte, the new “Promenade du Paillon”, where the major construction work will be completed at the sites of Place Masséna and the Albert 1st Garden. Only finishing touches will remain after the festival, allowing for optimal use of available space and a total capacity of 9,000 people per evening (500 more than the previous 2 editions).
The ticket office launch is scheduled for March 20, and a single ticket office will be installed at Place Masséna from the beginning of July. In terms of pricing, it will cost 35 € per evening (55 € for two consecutive evenings and 120 € for the 5-day pass), while a reduced rate of 25 € will be offered to those under 25 and over 65, as well as to corporate committees, large families, job seekers, students, and holders of the seniors + card.
