Saturday morning, in a Place Masséna adorned with its finest Christmas features, the employees of the Nice Matin group gathered, as did many others in the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Var, to distribute a “special edition” of four pages explaining the critical situation in which they find themselves.
Unfortunately, in the stockings of Hersant and Tapie’s Christmas, the gifts are likely to be bitter for many of the group’s employees, as very well explained by the articles in the journal downloadable below.
Indeed, it is difficult to see clearly through the dithering of shareholders more attentive to their wallets than the future of journalists, technicians, and other “human” resources of the local regional newspaper from the Côte d’Azur.
The Deputy Mayor, Christian Estrosi, came to greet the brave men and women who came to face weather bordering on stormy, and the reception was very favorable from the hundreds of people approached by the protesters.
It remains to be seen whether the human element will prevail!
