Today, the Commercial Court will decide the future of the Nice-Matin press group by choosing one of the takeover proposals from investors. Two projects seem to be standing out.
One is from the employees (Scop-Scic) which might lack strength in its financial aspect but has the merit of having the support of the main stakeholders and institutions, although the hesitance of Christian Estrosi and Eric Ciotti, usually present and active in all happenings, casts some doubts.
The other is Rossel, a Belgian press group but already owners of French newspapers, who certainly know their business. Additionally, the unprecedented alliance with two financiers active in real estate and property suggests significant financial availability.
A little more patience and we’ll know the name of the fortunate winner of this truly unique competition.
