There was quite a crowd at the Bar des Fleurs located on Cours Saleya, to welcome the Nice stage of the operation set up by Nice Matin, allowing selected readers to meet their mayor to exchange their opinions on the issues of their city. On the Nice Matin side, the host of this initiative, François Rosso, was present, along with the new General Manager, Jean Paul Louveau, the head of the Nice branch Eric Neri, the new Deputy Editor-in-Chief Olivier Biscaya, and journalists Jean-François Roubaud and Philippe Fiammetti. On the City of Nice’s side, many deputies made the short journey from the nearby city hall, and you could spot Eric Ciotti, Gilles Veissière, Jan-Michel Gally, as well as the communication manager Caroline Magne.
With the television cameras set up and the microphones open, everything was ready for the arrival of Christian Estrosi, who, after greeting those present, willingly participated for nearly two hours in a Q&A session with the invited readers. Even a bomb scare occurring just a few meters away at the Place du Palais de Justice did not disrupt the recording of this interview, which has been available on the Nice Matin website since yesterday.
After Antibes and Nice, it will be the turn of Cannes, Antibes, Menton… to host these meetings between reader-voters and their mayors. An initiative greatly appreciated by the participants of the Nice episode.
