The Nice-Matin saga could increasingly resemble a soap opera if the protagonists were not employees at risk of losing their jobs. A solution seems possible with a few concessions from management to employee representatives.

A certain piece of information in this case: About a hundred people are candidates for voluntary departure. A majority are close to retirement age (55 years and older), and a few younger employees also wish to take advantage of the plan to embark on new projects. The group has around a thousand employees. The negotiated plan includes, in addition to 148 job cuts, about 2 million euros in savings that have helped preserve jobs compared to the initial plan.
The management of the Nice-Matin group hopes for a final agreement “before the Christmas holidays”.
