On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, the municipality is launching a major awareness campaign and is mobilizing through several actions.
The facades of the City Hall, the Bellanda Tower and Phoenix Park also turned orange at nightfall. The emblematic #ILOVENICE structure on Quai Rauba Capeu swapped its blue, white, and red colors for orange since November 8. Why this color?
Just as pink symbolizes the fight against breast cancer in October, orange is used to represent a better future, free of violence against women.
Thus, Nice wanted to make an impactful statement by illuminating some of the city’s iconic sites from November 23 to 26 on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which takes place on November 25. This year, for this Orange Day, the prestigious Negresco hotel on the Promenade des Anglais joined the initiative.
A Barometer of Violence Distributed in Shops
As part of the Angela initiative, introduced last July, which aims to provide solutions against street harassment, barometers of domestic violence were distributed in Niceโs shops.
This indicator was developed as a prevention tool to help individuals evaluate the level of violence in their romantic relationship. By using its three colors, it enables people to determine whether they are living in an environment that is calm, tense, or dangerous.
This awareness campaign is also being conducted in bars and restaurants until December 6 and in the line 1 tram cars for two weeks.
The 3919* is the national hotline for victims or witnesses of violence against women, offering advice and guidance. The line is accessible 24/7, including for those who are deaf or have speech impairments.

Vanessa Filho and Sarah Abitbol Present in Nice This Weekend
This Friday, November 24, in the evening, the phenomenal film โLe Consentementโ by Vanessa Filho is screened as part of a civic session at Pathรฉ Gare du Sud, in the presence of the director and Sarah Abitbol.
