Nice Municipal Elections 2014: Pascal Durand, former secretary of Europe Ecology, supports Patrick Allemand

Latest News

The campaign is unfolding in Nice and the conclusion is quickly approaching. This is the time for candidates to play their final cards to convince the last undecided people of Nice. Patrick Allemand is relying on ecology and an environmental approach for this.

Less than a month ago, we unveiled Patrick Allemandโ€™s ecological program, specifically his 13 proposals for a sustainable and friendly city. On the agenda are the tramway line 2 on the surface, less noise in the city, more recycling, a focus on solar energy, and eco-neighborhoods.

Yesterday, the PS candidate welcomed Pascal Durand, the former secretary of Europe Ecology Les Verts, in front of a symbolic place, the Ariane incinerator. Very attached to Nice, the EELV representative announced his full support for a list he considers ecologically autonomous.

In a city he believes is lagging in sustainable development, he emphasized the poor air quality in Nice, an air that is tainted and polluted, which is not measured by independent experts. He also highlighted that Christian Estrosiโ€™s policy neglects the residents of the neighborhoods, focusing instead on adding green spaces in the city center.

The location was not chosen randomly, as Patrick Allemand explained his desire to move away from total incineration and reduce waste. He wants to turn towards composting and better management of selective sorting.

The green-PS collaboration seems to be working and has been maintained since the 1995 election and throughout each municipal election since. Pascal Durand hopes to see Patrick Allemand in the Nice mayor’s office in two weeksโ€™ time, to put an end to the “facade ecology” implemented by Christian Estrosi.

Isn’t it said that as long as there is life, there is hope…
