A full house, a host of prestigious guests, and an announcement, the last major rally of Christian Estrosi had a festive atmosphere in front of more than 4,000 people who came to the Acropolis Palace to begin the final stretch of the municipal campaign.
The candidate had given them an appointment, and for the most part, they responded present for this last public meeting of Christian Estrosi accompanied by all of his 68 running mates.
A room that warmly welcomed him as he quickly dove into the heart of the matter, as anticipated by the short film shown just before his arrival. After setting the stage with a preamble of the situation and once again criticizing the current socialist power, the announcement could finally drop: “I will create the first Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) of the Municipal Police.” A thunderous applause and chants of “Christian, Christian…” punctuated this final campaign promise.
For the rest, nothing we didn’t already know with Nice always at the heart of the various themes addressed by Christian Estrosi, who smoothly transitioned from his mayoral record to his candidate projects, logically continuing the key areas of his first term: Investments, security, purchasing power, and public health. National Interest Operation, additional personnel and cameras for the municipal police, financing of all or part of the driving license for young people, and the introduction of Pasteur 2 were his main talking points.
A slight difference was also noted in the treatment of other candidates, who had so far been ignored by the mayor-candidate. These are candidates “whose stake in the election is just to have their moment of glory or ensure their political survival, perhaps even dominance in their own camp.” A few responses to recent criticisms later, and as lunchtime approached, “Nissa la bella” could conclude the grand Sunday mass before giving one last appointment, that of the polls, for what Christian Estrosi termed “The Spring of Nice.”
