Canal France International (CFI) organizes a workshop in Nice to prepare for the coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games

As the City of Nice actively prepares for the Francophonie Games, which will be held in September 2013, the Centre Universitaire Mรฉditerranรฉen hosts Canal France International (CFI) from February 20 to 24 as part of its Olympic Games preparation workshop for journalists from Maghreb countries.

The program for these five preparation days, organized with the City of Nice:

Around twenty journalists and editors-in-chief from the Tunisian (ETT), Algerian (ENTV), and Moroccan (SNRT and 2M) public channels will participate in this workshop, led by several experts appointed by CFI: Jean-Claude Sorge, consultant for the African Olympic Committee (ACNOA), Youssouf Fall, Secretary-General of CONFEJES, Patrick Montel, journalist at France Tรฉlรฉvisions, Philippe Doucet, journalist at Canal+, David Botbol, head of new media at the sports division of France Tรฉlรฉvisions, Farid Kounda, producer, and Francis Cloiseau from the EBU.

They will discuss together the issues related to covering long competitions, both from an editorial as well as logistical and technical perspective. This week of exchanges will thus allow participants to enhance their knowledge of the event and consider the pooling of technical and human resources. CONFEJES and the EBU, which support this training, will also present their Olympic Games setups.

For 20 years, Canal France International (CFI) has been the French cooperation operator supporting the media in African, Mediterranean, Balkan, Caucasus, and Asian countries. A subsidiary of the France Tรฉlรฉvisions group, CFI is funded by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs to animate a network of media sector partners.
